The real car has and opening on each side. The model didn't have this so I took a soldering knife and cut the holes out. I used the provided decals that simulate the mesh on the sides as patterns. I then took a regular knife and cleaned the area up. I also took a motor tool and thinned the plastic around the opening from the inside.
I cut out the openings of the hood first with a soldering knife. Then I took a regular knife and cleaned the area up.
The spoiler was completely off compared to the real car. I used the provided spoiler to make the real one. I took the back of the stock spoiler and cut it of. I also used the sides of the stock spoiler. I shaped the sides took look like the real car spoiler. I also bent the ends by heating them up with a candle so that they would contour with the body. The finished spoiler looks great and I think is a good replica of the real one. This was my first true scratch built piece.
